UTAH CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES NEW HOME AND CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH KORN FERRY TOUR

The tournament will be played summers of 2025-2027 at Ogden Golf & Country Club.

“Bringing the long-running Utah Championship to Ogden Golf & Country Club opens a new chapter in the PGA’s Korn Ferry Tour legacy in The State of Sport,” said Jeff Robbins, president and CEO of the Utah Sports Commission. “With live coverage on NBC’s Golf Channel, this world-class golf event will provide the city of Ogden and the surrounding area with significant national and global exposure.”

Tony Finau and the Tony Finau Foundation have been proud partners of the Utah Championship since 2018. The Finau Foundation will continue as the tournament’s primary charitable organization, dedicated to providing resources to help develop Utah’s young, talented golfers.

The Utah Sports Commission has been a great partner for our golf mentoring program over the years as we support Utah golfers in pursuit of the PGA TOUR. Ogden Country Club is the home course to two of our program’s recipients, Patrick Fishburn and Connor Howe. It will be a great course to showcase local talent and the Korn Ferry Tour,” said Tony Finau.

Ogden, Utah, is home to several professional golfers, including the 2024 ISCO Championship runner-up Zac Blair, 2024 Utah Championship exemption Connor Howe, 2024 Reno Open champion Mitchell Schow, and Patrick Fishburn, who’s on a PGA TOUR rookie-season hot-streak with two top-three finishes in just four starts.

“I’m excited to have the Utah Championship at Ogden Golf & Country Club, it’s a special place to me, it’s where I learned the game and where I continue to play and practice at when I’m home, it’s an old school course that should provide a fun challenge for the players, looking forward to seeing it on the Golf Channel!” said Patrick Fishburn.

Utah Championship is one of the five Korn Ferry Tour events that has been held annually since 1990, with the exception of 1997 and 1998. Over its 33-year history, the tournament has traveled across the state, promoting the game of golf from Utah County to Salt Lake County, Davis County, and now, to Weber County. It has taken place at four different courses: Riverside Country Club, Willow Creek Country Club, Thanksgiving Point Golf Club, and most recently, Oakridge Country Club. Next year, Ogden Golf & Country Club will become the northernmost venue to host the Utah Championship.

Founded in 1914, Ogden Golf & Country Club is the oldest club at its original location in Utah. Nestled between the mountain peaks of Mount Ogden and Ben Lomond Mountain, it was originally built as a nine-hole course, with former club professional Ernie Schneiter Sr. adding the current front nine in 1948. In addition to being home to the Weber State men’s and women’s golf teams, the club has hosted many prestigious professional and amateur events, including the Utah Open, the Utah State Amateur, Junior America’s Cup, and the 1963 LPGA Riverside Ladies Open.

Ogden City is nicknamed “Title Town, U.S.A.”. In addition to hosting events for the 2002 Winter Games, Title Town has celebrated National and World Champions in various sports, including USA Cycling, Disc Golf, Triple Crown, Spartan, and more. The upcoming Utah Championship promises to add another thrilling event to the area, not only crowning a new champion but also generating significant economic impact for the community.
